Distinguished Service Cross

On January 2, 1918 President Woodrow Wilson authorized the Distinguished Service Cross. This "DSC" is the Second highest award in the U.S. Army, and is awarded to Army personnel for acts of heroism which don't warrant the Medal of Honor.
